We are offering variety of dance classes in Jazz, Classical Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Breakdance and Acrobatics for Years 2-4 students. This age group is one of discovering themselves, learning their likes and interests and the start of lifelong friendships. Through dance and performing we develop skills, build confidence and most importantly... have fun! There are no set "levels" for Junior classes and are open to everyone, whether the student has previous dance experience or is just starting as a begginer. It`s never too late to start! We recongise everyone`s talent and challenge to be the best they can be in all styles. Our studio is a second home for our students , where kids can relax with their friends and share a common love of dance in a carefree environment.
In September or October Junior students perform their dance at a community festival with their jazz, hip hop and Musical Theatre dance routine. The year culminates in a spectacular end-of-year performance at our annual concert in which every child is costumed and groomed beautifully will perform in all dance routines the student has enrolled.
Students wear their Centre Stage uniforms proudly to class each week. Family members are welcome to watch their child's progress once a year during Open Week, held in Term 2.
Junior age students receive the Centre Stage Merit Certificates for improvement, effort, good behaviour, politeness, remembering their dance, being a good leader, and so on. This system provides postive reinforcement and an incentive for students to become self-disciplined and motivated.
We allow parents to stay in and watch the first part of the trial class so that their child is settled, and we do understand that each child responds differently to the class environmnent and some take longer to settle in than others.
From 2022 onwards we will expand the choice of new styles such as Lyrical, Singing & Drama, Cheerleading for this incredible age group.
